I haven’t been running much.
Maybe once a week for a mile or two.
I have been averaging a mile of walking or running every day for #walkwithmel, but running definitely hasn’t been my focus.
I’ve been doing CrossFit almost exclusively.
But here’s the thing: I can feel myself getting stronger and I think it’s going to translate to my running.
Tomorrow will be the test as I run my 6th race of the way. It’s a 5k in a town about 30 minutes away.
And I am going to PR.
That’s right, I’m calling it. I’m going to PR. Just to be clear since I was confused myself after my race last month, my previous PR was way back in November 2009 and was 35:14.
I think I’m due.
There might be a few bumps in the road (heh) besides my lack of training, though. Here’s the elevation map of the course.
Hills. I hate hills. Like, a lot.
So hills and no training. But you know what? I’ve got a mental secret weapon in my back pocket: this comment from Brooke…
flaking on yourself sucks HOWEVER for you to be that close to a PR without really putting much into it? girl you have SO MUCH untapped speed and awesomeness side of you. time to get that ass in gear!!
pinky promise time – no more half assing races. if you go out too quickly, fine. adjust the next race. but none of this “saving” bull shit. you owe it to yourself to do your best each and every race.
