My Story

Hi there! My name is Thea and I write this blog.

Obviously.

I consider myself a work in progress. I’m a wife. I’m a mom. I’m a weight loser. I’m a runner. I’m a triathlete. I’m a scrapbooker. I’m a reader. I’m a TV watcher. I’m a show tune listener. I’m an all around cool cat.

So that’s generally speaking. Here’s a little more detail about things I write the most about.

My family: I’m married to a guy named Dave. He’s pretty amazing and he truly is my best friend. We met during a production of Grease and started dating very soon after. We were married in 2001 with a ceremony and reception that was completely musical theatre themed. Our son, Jacob, was born in 2003 and our daughter Emma was born in 2005. They really are a joy. They make me laugh every single day.

My weight: Just before Jacob was born and for several years after Emma was born, I was a member of Weight Watchers. While they helped me get from my heighest weight of over 190 pounds to my goal weight of 155, I decided that  I learned as much as I could from them and I branched out on my own. I maintained my weight on my own for a few years, but then I became too obsessed with the numbers again. Starting in 2012, I stopped weighing myself. I’m bound and determined to live my life based on how I feel, not based on a number on the scale.

My Fitness: I have a love/hate relationship with working out. While I did complete 13 races in 2011, I don’t really feel like my fitness level is everything it could be. I have a horrible habit on giving up on myself and letting myself take the easy way out. Working out is never, ever at the top of my priority list.

My eating: I’m working toward having a better relationship with food. I struggle with making the choices that I know are good for body. While I’m much better with my emotional eating than I ever been before, I still struggle with listening to my body and stopping when I’m full. My Clean Plate Club Membership Card is iron clad, no joke.

My hobbies: I love to scrapbook when I have the time, and I wish I took more time to read something other than blogs. And as soon as we have unlimited funds, I pretty much plan on going to see a musical every single stinkin’ day of my life. Anyone want to help with that… Anyone?
