You made the choice to stay up too late.
You didn’t listen to me when I told you to turn off the solitaire and go to sleep.
I know you’re tired. Why wouldn’t you be? You got less than 6 hours of sleep. You know that you can’t function with less than 7 or 8.
So, you’ve got to make a choice today. Here are your options:
- Scrap your to do list and take a nap (seriously, there’s nothing that important on it anyway).
- Battle through and be exhausted and cranky all day.
Whatever choice you make, it’s time to own your mistake and stop complaining about it. It’s pointless, annoying, and serves no purpose.
I have this conversation with myself on days like this, too! Hopefully you listened to number 1 and took care of the sleep issue FIRST! Then you will be able to tackle much more on the to do list AND you won’t be a grump! Hugs!

And I took a nap for 1.5 hours, went to volunteer and didn’t squat done around the house. Amazingly, I did not burst into flames.

I did nap! And I was a little cranky by the end of the day, but I really think it would’ve happened anyway. Me + Emma + Homework = KABLOOM!
