O.K. So I started week 3 of the triathlon training and can I tell you something?
TRIATHLONS REQUIRE A LOT OF STUFF!
I’m trying my best to only purchase what I absolutely have to have, but there is just so many things that I need to buy or think about buying.
I’m trying to hit up eBay for some stuff, but still. It doesn’t help that I’m cheap and only want to spend 50 cents on stuff. But every time I turn around, I think of something else I should have to make this experience successful on the bare minimum level.
Here’s what I’ve purchased so far:
- race swimsuit
- goggles
- swim cap
- bike
- helmet
- water bottle for bike
- super duper wicking sports bra that can be worn under my swimsuit (i need to support the girls for the run portion and won’t have another time to put it on)
But the one thing that I really, REALLY need is something to serve as bike pants.
Ya’ll, riding a bike HURTS. I can’t imagine riding even 1 mile without padding, let alone 11 miles. But the thing is, I either have to buy something that I can wear for the swim (hello, diaper), or buy something that can be thrown on after the swim.
Neither of those things are cheap. But I’m cheap. So we have a problem.
I’ve only got a few weeks left before I need to make these decisions and buy this stuff because I need to start training in it.
If anyone wants to send me money to pay for this stuff, that’d be awesome.
I hear ya. I thought running would consist of having a pair of shoes, only I ended up getting SO MUCH MORE.
