This week’s Monday Project over at The Sisterhood of the Shrinking Jeans is all about conquering fear and doing something that you have been putting off.
I decided that there was something I’ve been putting off for long enough.
So, I’ve gone and signed up for a triathlon.
On Sunday, July 25th, 2010, I will be participating in the Hagerstown Sprint Triathlon.
300 Meter Swim (Pool)
11 Mile Bike
3.1 Mile Run
Just typing that out makes me nauseous!
I will be shuffling my schedule around and starting the Trinewbies 11-week training program on Monday, May 10th.
My goal is simple. I want to cross the finish line. That’s it. If I have to crawl across the finish line, I will do it.
There’s so much to think about and do between now and then. I need a bike. I need to start running again. I need to learn all the ins and outs of equipment and transitions and procedure and…
Oh my Lord.
One more thing to check off my Bucket List.

Good for you, Thea! Look at you, out trying new things and pushing your comfort zone! I, ahem, completely skipped this week. Don’t tell Ms. Christie!
I am so proud of you! You are going to rock that triathlon and I’m faily certain you won’t have to crawl across the finish line. I’m ithcing to start training for one myself. Gotta get this behemoth of a half marathon out of the way first!
Awesome, Thea!! I’m excited for you!
I’m thinking of doing one of these two tri’s:

Well if it makes you nauseous, it makes me seasick just reading it. And I’m not even on the ocean, so look at how powerful that is. Ugh.
Good luck to you!
So stinkin’ proud of you!! xoxoxo
I am SO impressed. You are one driven, well-rounded individual. And you’re an inspiration. You made me go look at your bucket list and think about making one of my own. You made me think that maybe I could and should start trying to jog after all.
And after reading you just a little, I believe you will do everything you hope to do or plan to do including this incredible triathlon.
You go, girl. We’ll all be cheering you on!
you are my hero!!
