2010 Goals

January, February and March

  • Run 3 days a week, no less than 3 miles a day. (2 of 12 weeks completed) (Boy, I’m not doing very well with this one…gotta step it up!)
  • Read one book every two weeks.
  • January 3-16: Completed New Moon and Meeting Mr. Wrong. Started Eclipse.
    January 17-30: Completed Eclipse. Restarted Wicked.
    January 31-February 13: Reading Wicked.
    February 14-February 27: Still Reading Wicked.
    February 28-March 13: Stiiiilll reading Wicked.
    March 14-March 27:FINISHED WICKED!  Started Marley & Me.

  • Finish 2007 scrapbook pages. (10 of 11 completed)(Did 1 gift and started reorganizing room)
  • Cook one new meal every two weeks.
  • January 3-16: Mustard Turkey Cutlets (so-so…not that great)
    January 17-30: DOH!
    January 31-February 13: Flank Steak Souvlaki (again, not horrible, but not great)
    February 14-February 27: Baked Shrimp with Feta (oh my word, YUM!!)
    February 28-March 13: Vegetarian Stuffed Red Peppers (this one was definitely a keeper)
    March 14-March 27: Ginger Steamed Halibut (this one was pretty good…nothing spectacular)

April, May and June

  • Work out 5 days a week for 30 minutes or more (0 of 14)
  • Continue with book reading and cooking, increasing if possible.
  • March 28-April 10: Reading Marley & Me and Time Management from the Inside Out. Cooking Spice Rubbed Flank Steak (it was nothing to write home about)
    April 11-24: Finished Time Management and 5 Love Languages. Reading Marley and Me. Cooking Vegetable and Chickpea Curry with rice (absolutely no flavor at all).
    April 25-May 8: Finished Marley & Me and The Voyage of the Dawn Treader. Reading Breaking Dawn. Cooking Cajun Shrimp and Rice this week (super good)
    May 9-May 22: Finished Breaking Dawn, started Run Like a Mother. Cooking Tangy Pork Chops (super yummy).
    May 23-June 5: Reading Run Like a Mother and Triathlons for Dummies. Cooking Turkey and Black Bean Enchiladas (needed some cumin, but other than that really good!)
    June 6-June 19: Finished Run Like a Mother. Reading Triathlons for Dummies. Cooking Two Bean Pizza (it was good, but kind of a lot of things piled on the pizza. May cut down the ingredients a bit.)
    June 20-July 3: Skipping these weeks because of TRAVEL! Woohoo!

  • Finish last 2007 scrapbook page. Complete January-June 2008 scrapbook pages. (2 of 13 pages) (It seems I may be on a scrapbooking hiatus)
  • Buy a bike and ride one day a week. – Considering I signed up for a triathlon, this has GOT to happen soon! – Purchased! It’s blue!

July, August and September (updated on 7/22/10)

  • Train for and compete in triathlons in July and September – July triathlon completed. September triathlon completed!!
  • Continue with reading and cooking.
  • July 4-July 17: Finished Triathlons for Dummies, Reading Guernsey Literary and Potato Peel Pie Society. No new recipes tried!
    July 18-July 31: Reading Guernsey Literary and Potato Peel Pie Society and magazines. Cooked Black Bean Chicken and Rice. HOLY MOSES YUM!
    August 1-14: Finished Guernsey Literary and Potato Peel Pie Society. Started reading In Defense of Food. No new recipes tried.
    August 15-August 28: Reading In Defense of Food. No new recipes tried.
    August 29-September 11: Reading In Defense of Food. No new recipes tried.
    September 12-September 25: Reading In Defense of Food. Cooked “Family Friendly Taco Salad” This may be my favorite yet, but it wasn’t so family friendly, LOL! The kids had no interest.

  • Come up with new, guilt-free scrapbooking plan. – Got it! New bullet points!
  • Scrap April-June 2010, as many layouts as it takes. (June 2010 done. May 75% done)
  • Make 2 page layouts (in a photo book) for each of January-October 2008 (10 of 10)
  • Sign up for a photography class. (Moved to next quarter!)

October, November and December (Revised 10/10/10)

  • Train for and complete 10k race in November. Completed! 1:13:46
  • Complete swimming challenge with Karena in November and December. – Didn’t happen
  • Continue with reading and cooking.
  • September 26 – October 9: Finished In Defense of Food. Reading Food Rules. No new main meals, but we tried Roasted Beets. Dave loved them, but they’re going to take some getting used to for me!
    October 10 – October 23: Finisehd Food Rules, Reading 100 Secrets of Happy People. Cooked EZ Basil Tomato Chicken from Hungry Girl. It was pretty good. And it really was EZ.
    October 24 – November 6: Forgot to cook something new. Doh. Reading Life Laughs and 100 Secrets of Happy People.
    November 7 – November 20: Cooked Ginger Steamed Halibut and Cranberry Apple Pork. The Halibut was excellent and the pork was really disappointing. Going through a reading dry spell.
    November 21 – December 4: Finished reading 100 Secrets of Happy People. Reading Life Laughs.
    December 5 – December 18:
    December 19 – December 31:

  • Scrap February – April 2010, as many layouts as it takes. (1 April layout done)
  • Complete 2009 scrapbooking using a drop in album. (January done)
