Every once in a while, I go through a bit of a blogging slump.
There just doesn’t seem to be much going on, and I don’t feel I write well enough to turn the daily mundane into the readable love story to life that some bloggers are able to.
I stand in awe of writers like Stephanie with her simple elegance and DeeDee with her ability to turn a trip to church into a comedy routine.
And so, I turn for help. For Christmas last year, Dave got me No One Cares What You Had for Lunch: 100 Ideas for Your Blog. The name alone made me laugh out loud. Because, seriously, I would never write a post about what I had for lunch.
That’s what Twitter is for!
The problem? The majority of the ideas listed, while wonderful, would stand out like a sore thumb on my blog. I have used a couple of the ideas already (Only A Matter of Time & How Funky Is Your Chicken?) but the rest might seem like they are coming out of left field.
That’s why I thought I would write a preface post saying that, in the future, I will be using the ideas from this book. I’ll even create a nifty category for them, too, and reference the page numbers and all. Or something.
Consider yourself warned.
You are so
sweet. And as long as you keep being you, you’ve got it.
I get in slumps too and it’s funny but whenever I admit it and decide to take a break, I end up wanting to write more than ever!!
Steph
Maybe I should check out that book, too. ;p
How about I ry my hand at tagging you with a meme – maybe something to jumpstart the writing gears. Over at Leftovers I wrote about “when the seasons change.” It’s different for all of us. And I’m sure with relocation it’s changed for you. Your take? http://www.angelfire.com/retro/kpffl/blog/index.blog/1386024/to-everything-there-is-a-season/
Looking forward to reading some of those crazy blog idea posts!
I think that’s a great idea! I think I need that book too!
I titally agree with you re: slump, especially with the kids back in school!
