You Capture – Food

O.K.  Taking pictures of food was hard!  I mean, really, who cares what I eat?

Don’t get me wrong, I think food pictures done well are BEAUTIFUL!  I just don’t know how to shoot food pictures well.

How’s that for a buildup? LOL!  Anyway, here are two shots. The first is Emma eating her morning watermelon.

And I do believe a visit to the ice cream shop was a nice way to celebrate the last day of summer vacation. And to the lady who was very obviously staring at me while I took pictures of my ice cream: GET OVER IT!

  1. I totally agree! Ice cream was needed!

Ice cream and watermelon. Two favorites in our house!

  3. I love how people look at me weird when I’m taking all of my you capture shots…my husband especially.
Yum. Ice cream. Hooker, please. That’s just mean.

  4. I think your shots turned out great! I luuuuuv ice-cream.

Great photos. People always look at me strangely when I am taking pictures of random things too, especially my boyfriend :o ) It’s part of the fun of you capture.

I take pictures of my food in public places all the time. :) & coldstone is sooo yummy. I’m a birthday cake remix fan.

  8. Oh man, Coldstone is the best!

  9. Drippy, messy ice cream is the BEST. I would have licked up that mess, oh yes I would.

  10. Food photography is hard, you did a great job! And I have those same blue tumblers. They are my favorite.

  11. I am with you… wasn’t looking forward to this challenge! Love your ice cream though!!!

  12. Sue

    Oh the cold stone. YUM!!!

  13. Man all these pictures are making me want ICE CREAM NOW. I may just have to drive the 20 miles to town for it.

  14. Ha ha! I’m already pondering how I’m going to capture those Old Signs without getting lots of stares! I agree, though, get over it! I also agree that a trip to the ice cream shop is definitely the best way to celebrate the end of summer….maybe another visit tomorrow to celebrate the beginning of fall (even if it’s not officially fall)?

  15. I love that you took photo’s while out and about! I’m not that confident yet. The ice cream looks sooo good…I might just sneak out and get some tonight.

  16. Ice cream is ALWAYS good! Yummy!!

  17. I’ve taken pictures in Coldstone before. Because I want to remember how GOOD it is forever! Good job!

  18. Mary at Musingsofthesixties

Nice colors in the first one and nice ice cream in the second!

  19. The watermelon looks great! And that ice cream…ooooooh I miss Cold Stone! They’ve closed a bunch around here, so it’s not that accessible anymore. Jealous!

  20. Food IS hard. Mostly because we want to dig instead of waiting and working for that perfect shot. I do better when I shoot only the ingredients (like a few tomatoes, or a clump of raw pasta or a bunch of green onions) because I am less likely to want to eat it. But hen I always forget to take a picture of the final product. *sigh*

Oh, well. It’s to be enjoyed and not looked at, right?
