Spring Reading Thing Wrapup

I’m going to call this one a draw.

While I didn’t read every book on my list, I did read an extra book that wasn’t on the original list.  I never got into Emma, but I read The Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe.

I’ve decided that reading Jane Austen is like reading Shakespeare…blah.  I love WATCHING Jane Austen and I love WATCHING Shakespeare, but reading them is draining.  There are just so many WORDS.

I realize the irony of that statement, considering I’m writing a post on a reading challenge.  Leave me alone.

I have never read the Narnia series, and I really like them.  And the length seems to suit the number of brain cells I have left.

As always, I love Nicholas Sparks (even though it’s fluff) and Jodi Picoult (even though I’ve read enough that I am starting to be able to figure out the twists before they happen).

I’m going to continue on with the Narnia series…maybe I’ll be able to get those read before the fall reading challenge.  I really need to start reading between the challenges, instead of because of the challenges…

  1. Love the Narnia books! You should try the audiobooks! They are fantastic!

  2. Oh, I just LOVE Jane Austen. But I guess you either love her or hate her. She’s just so stinking funny!

  3. Oh, you made me laugh out loud! I genuinely enjoyed Pride & Prejudice this spring, but you’re right…lots of words. :)

Good job on the challenge — thanks again for joining Spring Reading Thing ’09!

  4. I too love Jodi Picoult – not so much with Nicholas Sparks though. There is a Narnia challenge going on now if you are still planning to read those.

And I am right with you on Austen and Shakespeare!
